Review Flying Week Tenerife
on 9 Dec 2024 · by Torsten Hössler

Back in cooler climes, we like to think back to our time in Tenerife.

We didn't actually expect much from the week. Calima was on the cards, so not exactly the ideal flying weather on Tenerife. The hot desert wind causes the Canary Islands to overheat and disappear in a cloud of dust.

So we weren't expecting to fly very many hours. Fortunately, the sun stayed true with us. We then looked at other flight sites and tried them out. Because we had 2 rental cars, we could easily reach all the spots on the island and always had the …

Cumulux - Paragliding in Luxembourg

Paragliding - one of the most beautiful ways to be closer to the sun and rediscover the word freedom. In harmony with nature, this sport offers the opportunity to get to know a new dimension and see the world from above.

The wind in your face, facing the valley, you pull some strings and feel your wing inflating. Suddenly your glider is over your head, you take a few steps, then feel how you get pulled into the air. You accelerate your path, and finally start flying.

A few minutes or even hours later you will either land in some remote field or you might have made it to the designated landing spot. After careful inspection of the surroundings and the wind conditions you approach the landing field, heading against the wind, correcting your path along the way and finally get in touch with the soil again.

The Cumulux Paragliding Club is the one and only paragliding club in Luxembourg and currently has around 80 members. We maintain three different sites in the north of Luxembourg. About 20 of our members are pilots who fly regularly and in all seasons.

Tandem flights are not easy to organise on our sites, they can only be realised under certain conditions. Look here for more details.

We do not pursue financial profit, but rather want to spend wonderful moments with friends. We are also not a flying school. You should be a trained pilot if you want to fly with us. If you want to start flying, have a look at the Learn to Fly page.
