Competitions

In addition to the many pilots who simply enjoy their time in the air, there are also experienced pilots who are looking for a certain adventure. There are various competitions, from cross-country races, hike and fly, accuracy or acro competitions, where pilots compete in different events and disciplines to test their skills and speed. In our club this is mostly Cross-country or a Hike-and-Fly Competition like the XC-Sauer.

Cross-country flying (XC) is flying with a paraglider in which you try to cover the greatest possible distance or cover a given distance in the shortest possible time.

The Cumulux Paragliding Club, in collaboration with the Fédération Aéronautique Luxembourgeoise, has defined a framework for Luxembourg competitions.

The flights can still be found on the Leonardo server (xc-lux.org). There you will find our International Cross Country Cup. That is any flight recorded by our participants. However, the National Cross Country Championship is now listed at XC-Cup for nationally started flights. Here it is possible that all pilots can be ranked together. This is made comparable by a factor that includes the aspect ratio of the glider.

The regulations you can find here in German and English.
